Technical Details

CostEng products are a true multi user systems and use Microsoft SQL Server as the database storage engine. This is an enterprise class database system that ensures you get the best reliability and flexibility when using your system.

If you have chosen to host your database in the cloud, then we use Microsoft Windows Azure as our cloud provider.  Windows Azure is an enterprise class cloud solution with full backup, load-balancing and recovery solutions. For more information on Windows Azure, visit http://www.windowsazure.com

If you have chosen to host the database yourself, then you have several options.  If your organisation has a license for Microsoft SQL Server, then you can install the database onto your existing SQL Server. If you do not wish to purchase SQL Server, then you can use the free version of SQL Server, known as SQL Server Express. SQL Server Express limits you to database sizes of 4GB, but in almost all circumstances SQL Server Express will be an excellent solution.

For more information on SQL Server visit www.microsoft.com/sql. Visit here for more information on SQL Server Express.
